Default Installing rear A/C vents in a Quad Cab??

Ok i may be getting a 06 1500 Quad Sport, i currently have a 05 SLT and in summer my young'un gets too hot in the back seat almost as if there is no A/C reaching to the back. The sport has the center console, and i wondered if it would be possible to run some ducts under this console to the rear to at least get some cool air back there, i think the crew cabs have rear A/C ???? do you think i could use the same parts on a quad cab.
Yea maybe the answer would be to get a crew cab, but right now that's not an option.
Has anyone here done this or known of someone doing it?

Do any of the quad cab's have rear air?

Thankyou for any help

I think the Megas have them as they run under the center console. I dont think there is any other way to do it.

Maybe there is just something wrong with your '05? My '04 blows nice and cold and can be felt in the back not long after the front is cool. I can keep the entire cab in the upper 60s with no problem even on the hottest days of summer in Florida and south Georgia.

Reducting would be a PIA I would think. A simple 12v fan may do just as good as any type of ducting, would be cheap and you would be able to use it only when you need it...

That fan idea from Hammer, is a good solution.
Cheap easy and quick.
It should push the cool air around the cab more efficiently helping the little person in the back.

i don't think it will be sufficient to run new ducting off of the original blower motor. lots of guys complain about tons of noise and not much air being blown or that the pressure is terrible. Add more ducting to the issue and you won't achieve better results, but rather worse.

I must say, my truck was relatively hot inside on warm days and did take a while to cool. Tinting the front windows helped out tremendously. i only went 35%, but even light tint blocks UV rays and the heat that goes through the untinted glass otherwise.
Might be something t think about.

That's true 'dog, and I now that you have mentioned it, my truck was tinted to the max limit Georgia laws allow when it was only about 2 weeks old. I'm sure that has a good bit to do with the fact that mine cools at a fast enough rate to suit me...

As far as the 12v fan goes, Wally World, auto parts stores and camping supply stores carry them. I use them for summer camping often and find the ones in the camping stores, although a bit more expensive, are of much higher quality and much more efficient than ones sold specifically for use in the vehicle.

Im down here in FL and it gets hot in the truck too. I do have tint but mine blows COLD. Sometimes on those hot days it helps to crack the window for the first few minutes, it helps to vent the hot air out and pulls the cold air through the back. Just a thought.

If you have a sliding rear window, cracking it a bit will help pull air to the rear. The fan idea is possably your best bet. I use one in my rig and it helps alot so I don't have to idle when sleeping.

Also be sure to use the 1st recirc setting, not the far left one.
