Unhappy Ball Joints??

Hi,
I'm new to this Forum and don't have any pics yet, my apologies. I have a question regarding a "clunking" from underneath the front end of my 2005 Dodge Power Wagon. It has 100 K on it and I'm getting a "clunking" when I hit a bump, turn slow at an intersection, and when I apply the brakes. It feels like something shifts underneath the floor boards when it does it. I thought at first it may be the control arm, but I'm wondering if it could be the ball joints. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Prob balljoints, but i would use the SEARCH to find possible solutions as that question has been answered many times.

Thanks for letting me know about the "search". Like I said, I'm new and still learning. I've read a lot of helpful prior posts already. Thanks!!

I had replace the upper and lower balljoints on my truck at 75000 miles. I still have to replace my steering rack as it's leaking.

I made an appointment at the Dodge dealership on Wednesday, hope to find more out then. I just put a Flow Master on it and it hides the popping, still doesn't take away the fact that whatever is causing it, is probably doing more damage the more it moves around. Going to Check the tightness of my lower shock bolt tonight, too. I'll let you know.

By the way, when you replaced you upper and lower ball joints at 75,000, was it making a clunking or popping sound?

Either your ball joints or possibly a bad hub/bearings. I would lean toward your ball joints if you're feeling it in your floor board. Ball joints on these rams all suck pretty bad.

Update!! Found my lower left control arm bushing is shot. New control arm through Dodge runs $180. Only thing, they said there is a HUGE back order on them. Once I get it on, we'll see if it takes care of it :-0

The fourth gens use a tubular lower control arm that seems to be the same length. It looks like a much better piece. Maybe you could research the length and order those instead...
