Sticking Brake?
I don't think its "my" parking brake. That was my initial thought but I have parked the truck without setting it and still have the same problems. I just think its buildup on the rotors after/during a cold rain or snow as that's the only time i have an issue with it. Only lasts from the time i pull out of the drive to the end of my street to the stop sign which is maybe 500 feet
maybe check the pad thickness and see if it is indeed wearing down on a pad, if its not dragging for very long and you don't notice any pad wear more so than the other side i wouldn't worry too much about it.
Maybe it isnt the parking brake then and it is indeed the disc brakes in the rear. This problem happened with my stock components and now I bought autozone rotors with the highest grade they sell cmax with new hardware. It really only happens when backing up. I might buy 2 new rear calipers and see if that fixes the problem if the problem persists into spring.
After engaging and disengaging the parking brake multiple times, it seems like it has stopped sticking. With this said, however, it will come back whenever it likes. It's not something I'm going to bring into a shop to get ripped off on though lol.
I pulled this from the 2600 page online downloadable manual
BRAKE NOISES
Some brake noise is common with rear drum
brakes and on some disc brakes during the first few
stops after a vehicle has been parked overnight or
stored. This is primarily due to the formation of trace
corrosion (light rust) on metal surfaces. This light
corrosion is typically cleared from the metal surfaces
after a few brake applications causing the noise to
subside.
