Default Exhaust ?

I have an 08 2500 mega cab 4x4. Interested in maybe upgrading the exhaust. My ? is how much will this help my mpg if at all and what do you experts suggest, as far as which brand. I'm only getting between 10 and 12 mpg now and would like to improve if I can. I'm not naive enough to think of getting 20+ with it, but would like to maybe see 15-16. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Not just exhaust but any help I can get will help. I recently got a superchips programmer but with winter here can't really get a mpg reading. Thanks

might make a little mpg difference....but Magnaflow seems to be the popular choice around here....fairly quiet at idle and cruising, but they sound pretty sweet at WOT. Aero Turbine is also popular.

Your mileage will really suck now with the winter blend gas, but realistically, a tuner, CAI and high flowing (400+ CFM) cat-back exhaust will prolly net you about a mpg and the nice sound will have you on the throttle more, and you'll end up giving it back and then some...

Yeah mines dropped from 17 ave to about 15.5 on the winter blend. Sucks when you drive 72 miles round trip every day.

I would say you really wont see much is any gains with just exhaust. Where your going to gains is with a Cold Air Intake and a tuner/programmer. But its been my expirience in the past that I get all that to help with mileage, and end up pissing it away with a heavier foot. LOL, oh well

If you are looking for a mpg improvement take a look at doing an e-fan. That is the mod that has given me the best mpg increase.

agreed the sound alone makes you jam the gas when ever possible
