Question Horn malfunctioning

My horn is acting up too. It seems to be operating and different tones. I use the factory settings and have a remote start. For me hearing the truck can come in handy when not in sight.

Took it to the dealer and they said I need a new horn. Where is the horn located on a 07? Is it easily accesable that they could just look at at it and tell by the connections being ok?

Any suggestions for diagnosing?

I dont think they are covering it. This happned since I got my truck back from a body shop after having a light front end accident.

Ideas? Otherwise tomorrow I will be paying $30 for the install and $35 for the horn.

Are you the original owner? 3yr bumper-bumper warranty would cover that.

If it's due from your accident then insurance should have covered it.
I wouldn't let the dealer tell you it was from your accident as they will try to pin anything they can on something else.
i think the horns are inside the driver fenderwell????? not entirely sure. if so, it's easy to pull out a fender liner. like 8 small screws.
Can't be too difficult if they are only charging you 1/2hr for install.

I believe I will get coverage through the insurance company. With that being said it's easier for me just to have them install it. Then if something funky happens I have some recourse.

Just wasn't sure if the dealer really checked it as I couldn't seem to locate it and it sounds like it requires taking the fender liner out... Maybe they just looked at wherever the leads plug into and verified they were ok, therefor the horn itself must have something wrong.

Thanks for the info.

the horn on my 07 is a PAIN IN THE A** to get to. Its mounted to the inside of the driver side front finder, but the problem is that its covered on both sides. So i couldn't get to mine i said screw it and made my own! You cant just remove that lining either.

New horn is installed, sounds just like it should!

Also threw on some of those rubber Mopar mud flaps, as these new Zens like to throw all kinds of things onto the rockers. They aren't the best looking things in the world, but after all their simply a functioning item not for appearance.
