Default Gauge pillar fitting

So I bought a triple gauge pillar from Glowshiftdirect.com They had a package on there that included the pillar, and 3 gauges of your choice. I selected oil temp, trans temp, and air/fuel ratio.

The site says it's a direct replacement of the OEM pillar, but when I did a test fit, it didn't sit correctly. And they gave me one long bolt that is supposed to go through the new gauge pillar and into the top screw on the frame. It seems the pillar wasn't molded properly and so it doesn't hug my frame precisely. You can actually see right through one of the pods and out the front windshield.

Anybody work round this? Anybody attach this unit to the oem unit? I know that the handles on the oem pillar will have to be chopped off for it to fit.

Lemme know!

here is a pic of how wide it is.

Can you warm it up slowly and try to mold it to fit better and then hold it in place while it cools?

from a member on another site "i had recently posted about not being able to get my SRT pod out, but i managed to do it and get my new autometer triple gauge pod installed, i had ordered a package from GLOWSHIFT.com which included three gauges and a triple pod, but their pod was junk, so i decided to buy a better one, if you decide to ever make a purchase from them, dont buy their gauge pods, but the gauges seem nice, pix are below.''

i would just get the autometer triple pod. fitment seems to be good with that one

I said to hell with this piece of crap pillar and bought an autometer pillar. Going to get refund for the glowshiftdirect.com one... WIll take pics after install on Saturday.

Question about the trans temp sensor. I read in a DIY that it went into the #3 test port. That was for autometer gauges, think it would be ok to do the same port with the glowshift gauges?
