Got my new box and it came with the J-hooks. Getting ready to go bolt it down. Tried the standard box but really liked the extra deep low profile better. (pic below and new sig pic).

They don't stay shiny long though unless you really work on them and that ain't gonna happen. Gotta go get it bolted down and lined so I can start piling crap in it that usually collects in my back seat.

I am toying with getting a black one, but I like the look of the truck without it, so still trying to make myself do it!

Definitely black on your truck. UWS makes great boxes and has a whole line of black versions that are powdercoated, not just painted. I had a black one on my last RAM. You just have to be careful not to let the coating get cracked. Powdercoat is pretty durable when it comes to scratching but if the box gets dented real bad it could break the powdercoat and then it'll start chipping after that.

I thought a standard size box would look fine on mine but I didn't like it when we put it on there. So, I went back in and got the low profile version instead, and got the deep version so I could get back the space I was giving up for the low profile and I think it looks much better. A black low profile in your ride would be very smoove. You'd have to get rid of your rails though unless you get a box that sits between the bedrails. I thought about one of those for a while too.

Another bonus for me is I now don't have to remove or move my window stickers...

You can always get the little step that mounts under each side of the bed to step over the box. And they do make and sell short rails that are made for trucks with tool boxes. If your rails are in good shape, you could sell them and recoup some of your cost. Not trying to talk you into it - just sayin...

Don't know how I made it this long without a box. I've always had one before and they've always stayed full. A lot of it is usually hunting stuff though. Just the kind of stuff that's piled up in my back seat right now. I guess that's how I've gone without for this long. Can't wait to get some weather to clean my rig up and hopefully keep it clean for a while and get some good pix. Got some Meguiar's NXT just waiting to shine it up.

There are a lot of products out there that can keep the diamondplate shiny, but if it starts to fade out, the only thing I've seen so far can bring it back to like new is Flitz....

Hammer, anything that's easy to apply to prevent it from fading that doesn't require a lot of elbow grease? If not, it can fade til it matches my truck color - LOL. I'll polish my bike, my chrome, my paint, but I ain't polishin no tool box only to watch it fade again.
