ok so im driving down the highway today with my system up a significant bit when my check guages light comes on. i look down and my volt meter (pretty sure thats what it is) is pinged at the H. i pull off the hw turn off my truck pop the hood look around the battery is fine, not hot at all. the alt looks good so i start it back up ( starts like the champ she is) and nothing... everything is perfectly fine again. drove the rest of the way to work (about 15 miles) and still everything was fine. wtf??? anyone ever heard of this?

 

Never heard of it but I dont think the H means "hot" does it? Maybe "high"? I guess the only thing you could do is put a meter on it next time if it happens and see what its really reading.

 

yeah its means hight not hot. ight thanks it hasnt dont it again so i dunno

 

Sounds like the voltage regulator stuck open and started overcharging!! If it does it again, make sure you have no more that about 14.5V with it running and the gauge pegged or you can fry the computer and possibly explode the battery!!
