Default maybe 3rd gen guys can help

guys i have 2 options here and need help

i have pacesetter longtubes and need to redo the exhaust, it currently has the headers going stright to the cutout but i need cats and want to do the system right

option 1- i can buy the pacestter y-pipe thats made for the long tubes and put a cat on the end of that and run a si/do muffler http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01...Q5fAccessories

option 2- get a seprate x-pipe and run 2 cats after the headers then x-pipe and 2 mufflers like aeroturbines or something. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...a%3DN%26um%3D1

im looking for the best sound and best low end power , if anyone has any info about either setup please let me know

option 1 shouldnt even be a consideration if you're just gonna hack up the y-pipe. run straight headers (sounds amazing) and take your truck to the exhaust shop with your cats, an x or y pipe (depends if you want dual or not) and 1 or 2 mufflers (again, dual or not). make them fab the pipes. it'll be about $100 to fab it up including materials. Anything more and they're robbin you.

When I did mine, I did just what AF said for you to do, kinda. Was before I joined any forum and had to experiment for myself. Unbolted the manifolds and cut right after the cats, tied everything back in and was gonna do the non-fouler trick for the O2 sensors. I used a short, very open (unrestricive) "Y" I picked up at the local auto parts store.

But I thought (maybe mental) that the truck lost a little low end and hemmed and hawed. No way I felt like going back under and hacking and welding laying on the ground, so I called a local shop.

They cut the cats back in and all I had left to do was extend the O2 wires and hook them back up. They charged me $75 to basically cut in and weld the cats back on.
