Default Switching exhaust and manifold

I've got an' '04 4.7L and currently have Gibson dual exhaust cat-back on it. I'd like to upgrade to the 2008 manifolds, does this mean I would also need to upgrade the cat-back or will it still fit. Also, I'd like to switch from the dual Gibson to a single Cherry Bomb, would switching from dual to single decrease the gains since there wouldn't be as much area for air to leave from?

The Gibson sounds great, its got a nice roar to it nothing to loud and obnoxious. However when I'm not on the accelerator it goes almost silent which I don't like, I want something that will have a nice rumble both while accelerating and not accelerating, from what I've read the Cherry Bomb exhaust with the Vortex muffler should do the trick.

Unfortunately I can't judge if I have seen a performance increase since I received the truck with the Gibson exhaust already on. I will say that I was expecting the 4.7 to run a bit sluggish but have been greatly surprised at the throttle response of the truck. Makes me want to move on to performance upgrades now rather than later to see how much I can really open her up.
