Default A Sad Story, With a Happy Ending

As you can see by my info on the site, I have(had) a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 HEMI 4x4 quad cab truck. Well, just before New Years Eve, I was at the local grocery store and heading home. I went to make a left turn on a blinking red to head home, when WHAM! I get hit. Now, I checked to see if it was clear, so either I'm dumb and missed/misjudged him, or he came out of the other end of the parking lot and floored it, I don't know. I was hit by a new-ish Chevy 2500 on the front driver side corner of my truck. After the first hit, both trucks spun and his *** end smashed my driver side rear door in about 6 inches. Estimated impact speed was 45-50 miles per hour. Everyone involved was fine, but both trucks were totaled. I didn't check the Chevy out too much, but on mine it's basically the hood, both front quarter panels, grill, rear driverside door, radiator, trans cooler, oil cooler, condenser, fan, fan shroud, the frame that holds all that, possibly motor mounts, the front diff and tranny were pissing fluid, and the death bell, the front driver corner of the fram was pushed in about 5-6 inches, and the entire driver side frame rail was tweaked down almost the whole length. Funny thing was, the Chevy was basically raped, entire passenger side ruined, couldn't even open the doors and it wouldn't run. When I went to the impound lot to get my stuff from my truck the guy there just started mine right up and drove it out to me. Not even a 7500 pound Chevy could totally kill my 5500 pound Ram, lol.

Now for the happy ending. My insurance recently contacted me, and I am getting just over 3 grand more than I paid for the truck in the first place. Needless to say, I am pretty excited about that, way more then I thought I was gonna get.

I've already found two potential replacments, and would like some opinions on them. Here is my first choice, and the one I like the most. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/1524846659.html It has almost everything I want, and I hope all is well when I goto check it out. The runner up is this one here http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ctd/1538768159.html which is basically everything I want, except it has more miles on it. Opinions are welcome and wanted, and I'll try to answer any questions you all may have.

I like the look of the first one better out of the two you posted. Glad to hear you came out of the accident unharmed.

First one is better, not a fan of the camper on the second one.

to me its worth the 20k more miles to get a 2k price drop. do either come with full service records? take em out and test drive them both. see how they compare to your other one. they both look fairly well priced and in decent condition

I would like the sport bumper from the first on the second, thats what I mean basically.

I hope you get what you want and need out of the new truck.

I also do not like the shell on the second one. Way I see it, if I go with that one, the shell is just a bonus to be either resold or kept around in case I needed it or something. Same kinda thing with choice 1, it has a toolbox I don't need right now on it. I just got a Truxedo Low Pro QT cover for Christmas, so for either one, that is what will be going on instead.

I will be test driving them and checking them out with my 2 buddies, who between us 3, have like 15 year experience with Rams. Both trucks are private sellers, and I haven't talked to either one other than setting up a time to look at the trucks, so I don't know about things like service records. Also, I plan on running a Carfax on both. Anyone know of any deals on those?

Offer 10,000 cash for the first one with the stipulation that it passes a used vehicle inspection from a shop. I got my 04 a year ago for 10,000 cash and it had more accessories than this one.
