Default Trouble codes...

I keep getting CEL's ever since I changed to the Taylor shorty plug wires...

About 4 times I got a CEL for cylinder number 4 "insufficient ionization on secondary ignition coil" but today I got one for cylinder 5. Are the wires crap? They looked and felt like good quality.

I guess I'm just surprised more than anything, and wonder if anyone else has had this issue.

When I did my 6.1 coil upgrades I got these same codes on cyl 1/3/5. But when I did my cam I made sure I took those same coils and swapped them with 2/4/6 and I havent had the issue since. My opinion? Bad or loose connection on the coils.

I know the hard core performance shop type guys say NOT to use the shorty wires, something about the secondary plug and its critical timing of when it fires. Occasionally causes CELs but more importantly, Hemi 5.7s and now the 4.7 with 2 plugs per cylinder actually are worse on the dyno than just the stock wires.
Regular length, but thicker, higher quality wires are recommended...
