If its to loud your to old
Well i had a local shop cut my flowmaster 40 off and replace it with a pipe, and well it sounds SWEET!! The sound itself blows my mind and everybody's ears around
Its really not loud until you jump on it, if i could record the sound i would and post it. Even if you have a aftermarket muffler chop it off and try it. It does not cost that much to put it back on.....

Mine is the exact same way but mine has got dual side exit 2.5 inch pipes, both exiting infront of my passenger side rear tire. Its always fun to floor it in first gear going by cars with the windows down.
yeah iv got the same true dual 2-2.5 inch straight pipes angled out each side with 4 inch tips its on a 4.7l but its loud than some chevy 350's running straighs and IS loud than a chevy 305 with 12 inch packs but no converters. straight pipe is the cheapest and best sounding lol
I heard that running straight pipes (no cat/muffler) wouldn't produce enough back pressure, causing your valves to warp. Is that not true? Straight/true duals on the hemi don't cause engine/destroying backpressure problems?
Warp?? I don't think that running straight pipes would have that effect, but I've read it doesn't provide enough something, not sure about the backpressure part, and inhibits scavenging of the exhaust gas from the cylinder.
Thanks for the response mopartodd, I guess I should rephrase my question then. If I were to run straight pipes on my hemi, would I hurt the engine/shorten its lifespan by any noticeable amount? or would it just be painfully loud?
