Default 4x4 Light problem

2005 Ram Quad Cab, 5.7 Auto. I have manual engage 4x4 which works great but recently my light in the dash stopped lighting up when engaged. I figure its a sensor somewhere but thats why I turned to all you guys who know way more than me about these trucks. I specifically got the manual 4x4 for this reason, seems too many "push button" 4x4's fail. No check engine lights or anything like that have came on. Any thoughts?

tried posting to this earlier but internet had gone down for me.

when you shift into 4x4 and it properly engages and works fine, then it is most likely just the bulb burned out. that would be the most likely cause, if its a sensor i would guess that it would throw a code

The indicator light is controlled by the same vacuum switch which controls the solenoid that switches you from 2WD to 4WD. So if you are NOT getting a 4WD Light, but are actually shifting into 4WD mode, then it's going to be the light itself...

Yeah, 4wd works fine. I don't remember if there is a different light if I am in Low 4wd. I would assume there is not an easy way to get to that bulb....Right??
