Default Interior Lighting Question

This may be a stupid question, but has anybody tried changing the lighting color of the instrument panels (AC contolrs, Speedo, Tach, etc.)? When my lights are on, my instrument panel glows green (as I'm sure they all do). Just wondering if anybody has tried to change this to another color, I want to make mine glow blue mostly to match an aftermarket stereo that I want to get.

Yep! My guage cluster, all interior switches and roof console glow blue! Interesting project, I used white LED as the clusters, HVAC switches and roof console have blue filters in them. The reason they glow green is that incandecant bulbs glow yellow.

I did it for the same reason as you. My Alpine glows blue and clashed with everything!

yea Weed, that guy even broke his stock HU open and changed that. Rubberfrog did it too I think?

That strip of blue plastic is the same as they use in the theater. Acting theater that is. You can get whichever color you want and cut it to size. Its a gripe of a deal, but I would like to do it some day

I will try to find the writeup on dt. I did it in my truck recently, other than a few minor hotspots it looks fantastic!! Blue led's replace all the lights, its a pretty easy project actually believe it or not. Roscolux is the material you use, I cant remember what color right now though... I believe its like 74 or something... I could be wrong though. I have some left, as well as a few other members on the forum if I recall. I think I have enough left to do one more truck.
