Default a little more tow

Hey guys (and gals). I have a 07 qc 4x4 with the 5.7L. I recently got a camper and need a little more umph between 2000&3000 rmp. Currently running a drop in k&n, e-3 plugs, magnaflow exhaust, all synthetic fluids, and a bully dog programmer. Here's what Im thinking of upgrading: air raid cai, e-fan, and either upgrading to a diablo programmer or a set of shorty headers (jba or bbk). I thought of gears but right now I have 3:92s which turn 2600rpm at 65 in third. If I up to 4:56 I would seem to think I would then be pulling in 4th gear instead of third and maybe defeating the idea of re-gearing. I may very well be wrong with that theory but what is your info. Thanks. Sorry for the long post

Welcome to the forum. Tow haul mode uses 4th and many on here love the 4.56 gears.
Go back to a copper core plug like the OEM Champions or NGK V-Power units. The seem to run best with these plugs.
I have no experience with a Bully Dog unit but am quite pleased with my Diablosport.
You won"t gain much of anything with a CAI in that RPM range. I have a K&N drop-in filter and an Airaid MIT pipe. Looks good, and will gain a few hp up high when the engine is really breathing at say 5000rpm -up. The E-fan is a good choice. The Shortie headers may also help with the mid range power. Dirtydog has a set on his and if I recall correctly, he noticed some gains in that rpm range.

headers will help ya in the low end torque area for sure, but LT headers will prolly benefit ya more then shorties will....upgrading to a different intake will help, but really the biggest different is the inlet tube from the filter to the TB ( i know quite a few guys have replaced the stock one with a plain ole round tube and been just as good as an actual CAI)....an e-fan is a good idea no matter what

gears are going to help you out the most for towing.
