Default Question about exhaust

I bought my new(used) ram about 2 months ago, still tryin to get picks, but anyways, it has straight pipes but it has the cat on it as well. I been told this will brun up my valves and i have also been lookin at the flowmaster 40 series. Is that a good exhaust and how does it sound?

a lot of guys on here will shun the use of a flowmaster. They call them rustmaster. A lot of 'em use magnaflow and cherry bombs and even glasspacks. Just a thought. Some people do run the flowmaster, but in wet, snowy, salty conditions, I have done a little research and would say don't use it.

The Flows have a great sound, biggest complaint was they rusted and did not hold hold up well but they make them in stainless now so who knows. Here are some sound clipps of mine.

I mean i love the sound with no mufflers, its a good deep sound but actually not to loud where its not true straights. Will not having mufflers burn my valves? I hear yes from some people and no from others

For me, personally??? If you're running the truck with no mufflers I'm old school, but that's a no no. You have no backpressure which the for everything I've been told for years the motor needs. Personally if you wanted good sound, just get a SIDO setup and you'll be just as happy. You may even notice your bottom end HP and torque may go up just a little.

I have a regular flowmaster super 40 (no stainless) and it is pretty rusty already. Installed it about 16 months ago.

You are not going to burn any valves running it with no muffler.

As said before, your valves will be fine. There are lots of guys who run with no cats either. Mine will be gone soon.....LOL
