Default Activating Fog Lights

I am in the market for factory foglights and all the OEM kits online seem to think that I have to go to the dealer to have the computer activate them. If this is true, is there a way around this while still using the factory harness?

I don't know of any way around it, I think you need to take it to the dealer. Just call a few nearby and see what kind of prices they give you, I think one guy in the 3rd gen section got a quote of like $40.

I installed mine a few weeks ago and to my surprise I didn't have to get the comp activated, just turned right on. And they even work with the brights on. I'd get some quotes, install them yourself then take it in if they dont work. Good luck.

Good to know, I guess I will buy the kit and see what happens after that. By the way would I have to do the same activation thing if I bought and OEM cruise control as well?

Not sure, I'd search through the 3rd gen section to see if you can find some more info on that.
