Is there such thing as a pre hemi 5.9 in a 2002 dodge 1500 mag truck?

 

the 5.9L is a magnum motor. based off the old LA block 360. i guess you could say pre-hemi as in it was used before the hemi. but they dont have too much in common. they phased out the 5.9 in 2003. i prefer my 5.9L over a hemi.

 

yeah, me too. I sure wish my '07 came with the 5.9

It's pre-hemi in that it was the big motor before they reintroduced the hemi. Other than that, not related. I had a 2000 Ram Laramie with that motor with some loud *** pipes. I prefer the hemi but am hoping to add a little rumble to mine next week. Don't know if it was more the truck or the motor but my hemi model is rated to tow more than my 5.9 was. I liked my 5.9 but like the mpg's on my pre-mds hemi (LOL) a lot better.
