8000k is enough blue. the difference between 8000k and 10000k is that the 10000k puts out less light than the 8000k.

When I did my HID's.... I kept stock housings... I dont imagine its much different but uhhh.... The ballast kit that I had was a stock replacement.... the ballasts had connections to a stock plug and it went right into the housing except the bulbs were hid... low beam 9k high beam 10k.... I am having issues with mine unfortunately

Guys, he is asking about bulb sizes for AFTERMARKET headlights. They are NOT H13's. That is stock housing.

Bulb colors And output vary from one manufacturer to the next since they don't "properly" test or have quality control in assembly. SOme manufacturers provide more salts in their bulbs than others as well as diff types of salts. This changes light output(+/- but generally - up to 500 Lumens) and color. With that being said...

5000K is suppose to be crystal white( but almost always has hint of blue) ~3200lumes
6000K is noticeably blue ~2700 Lumens
8000K is deep blue ~2400 Lumens
10000k is either Very blue or Blue with pruple hue depending on manufacturer ~2100 Lumens
Stock H13' put out ~1400 Lumens on Low and ~1700 Lumens on high.

IMO, anything over 6000K is all for show and severely reduces output not to mention Blue is well documented to cause driver fatigue for both drivers and other motorists.
I personally have driven in a Merceds sedan from Florida back that had 8,000K bulbs and i wanted to rip my eyeballs out by the time I even reached halfway. i had to stay overnight in a hotel to get some shuteye. On the rest of the way back home, same thing. That was the first time EVER that i had to rest driving from NY-Florida ~1300 miles trip. iI have always done non-stop trips no problem.
Besides, your asking for trouble wioth the cops running 8000K+ colored lights. Just some food for thought.

most of those Aftermarket lights run H bulbs. H1, H3, H7...all low output bulbs compared to normal 9006....etc bulbs.
