Nope, and you won't even have to recalibrate your speedometer either.

Well, let me amend this. You won't tear anything up IF you find a good shop to do the install AND you break them in properly...

BUT...........

you will need to trim the carrier pin for the 456s to clear. I went through this and so did anyone else using 456s although thier installer may not have told them.

http://www.motivegear.com/tech_info/...tructions.html

CHRYSLER
PROBLEM: CHRYSLER: 9.25", 12 Bolt Cover, 4.56 and Higher.
I bought 4.56 gears for my 1/2 ton pickup, but I cannot get the cross pin into my carrier.
SOLUTION: It does not matter whose gears you use. You will need to modify your cross pin to use a 4.56 or higher gear in your vehicle. This applies for open differential, Auburn and Eaton differentials. The pin will need to be cut at an angle opposite the bolt hole. Because every manufacturer is different, no measurement is provided.

You will however have a severe drop in gas mileage due to the fact that you won't be able to keep your foot out of it!

Hell, mine sucked when I first got my truck so Ive never minded but you do have a point, especially if he is keeping stock 20s with 32" tires

I dont know the exact tire size of hand..they are just factory stock Wrangler HPs on the stock 20in wheel. I have a weird shake..not hardly noticable...it may be the tires or shocks..they trk has only 30k on it so..I am kinda scared haha! I was gonna have my tranny guy look for a new torque converter, shift kit,and programmer...but he said with 4.56s I probably wouldnt need that...and he had a dodge truck there that he just swapped 3.92s for 4.56s. A tire shop put on two different size tires on the front and he put it in 4wd and tore it up! What kinda money am I lookin at for the swap? He had to call his parts man and see what it all would cost..

My gas mileage sucked stock, but when I switched to the 4.56's, my gas mileage stayed pretty much the same. And to answer the original question, like was stated earlier, as long as the gears are installed properly, you should have no problems whatsoever.
