All you guys with the air tanks...is that for lowering your truck? I am going to install rear bags for hauling/towing and didnt think i needed a tank, just a compressor. Am I correct or totally wrong?

No, Im pretty sure we all have the compressors for our train horns
so what happens when you place your tank right behind the front bumper and have it filled with 200 psi and get into an accident? lol
Thats why the shops told me not to put it there but there isnt as much room anywhere else besides in the bed or toolbox... but thats also why I have a grill gaurd, it should help somewhat.
And to the OP I dont know about lowering at all, maybe someone from the "lower class" could chime in.

sorry dude, i dont want to lower it. I want to install helper bags in the back for when i tow/haul. so, with helper bags do i need a tank as well?
oh gotcha. i thought you meant air bags and all that stuff for lowering it to the ground.
but from what I understand, no you dont need a tank, just the compressor.

yea, looks like its just the compressor after looking at 4wheelonline.com so, any ideas for mounting of just the compressor?
if it were me i would mount it in the front corner of the bed and have a metal shop fab up a removable cover to keep it safe. that way its out of the way and easy access if you should have a problem with it. also you wont need as much tubing cuz you will be that much closer to the rear axle.
