Is it cheaper to get the bumpers/grille painted or powdercoated? Im not sure what is better to do. For the guys that has done this, whats a rought estimate I should expect when I go to a auto body shop?
i had mine powdercoated and sandblasted saved the hassle because noone would give me a gurantee the paint would last long with the chrome even if its sanded, i paid 125 for front and rear blasted and powdercoated but i got a big deal every where else it was around 200-250
yea i woulda still paid that to avoid the hassle and then one of the last places i called said they do large quantities of parts for a company so they could just throw mine in and save me some money
i got quoted a media blast and both bumps for 200 but thats thru a buddy also.....so im not sure what a reg shop would charge....and thats with a guarantee from him personally
Painted would be cheaper. Powdercoat is more, but you will pay more. I got my front & rear bumper sandblasted and powdercoated for $125ea. = $250. While, i got a quote from a local sandblaster for painting the bumpers, $150 for both bumpers to be sandblasted & primed. Paint was extra but way cheaper than the powdercoat. Depends on you, but i will only go with powdercoat. Looks good, durable, cant go wrong...
