Default HID retrofit pics

Well, I finally got my headlights back from the retrofitter (I didn’t do it myself like dirtydog or weedahoe) and got them installed on my truck. They are my stock headlights with E55 bi-xenon projectors, apollo/cayenne shrouds, and 4300K D2S bulbs. I also put in a set of 4300K fog lights.

That is beautiful! something I've always wanted to do, if you dont mind me asking, what does that run to do? i couldnt imagine it being cheap, i could probally do it myself, but if im gonna go through the effort of having real projectors, id like them to be aligned correctly/professionally. any how, those are nice man, only thing i would have done was use an 07 headlight, simply because im not a fan of the amber strip, but thats just my opinion.

Total price including parts, labor, and shipping was around $700. It was $350 for the labor and shipping for the retrofit, and it was another about $350 for parts, not including my stock headlights. I would have done it myself, but knowing my luck, I would have screwed something up. As for the stock headlights, I don’t like the amber strip either, but I already had the lights and didn’t want to spend any more money on buying new headlights.

that about exactly what i figured, $700. isnt too bad, but could have saved some coin doing it yourself, but like i said, ill probably pay to have it done, since im picky about those types of things. if you dont like the amber strip you could always do the night runner mod, isnt hard, ive done it to several headlights and you could tint the strip as well and youd never know its there until you light it up. hows the light output? do you get perfect, crisp cut off lines like you would out of an OEM equiped car with projectors, such as the E55 you got them from? pics would be awesome

Like I said, I would have done it myself, but I wanted it done by someone who knew what they were doing. As for the amber strip, I don’t really like it, but not enough to actually do something about it. The light output is a lot better than stock w/halogen bulbs and a lot better than my aftermarket halogen projectors w/HID’s that I had. Compared to my old projectors, the E55’s are 100X better, the light output is much higher, and the beam pattern is soooo much better. The cutoff lines are even crisper than OEM HID’s, since I put in clear lenses for the projectors as opposed the frosted or whatever it’s called lenses that normally come in OEM HID projectors. As for pics of the light output, I forgot about that. I can take some tommorow night.

The projectors and shrouds I got at The Retrofit Source, http://store.theretrofitsource.com. As far as the HID wiring harness, bulbs, etc, I got from Tim on DT, but he is not doing HID kits anymore. I don’t know if HIDExtra on here has bi-xenon kits to work with OEM bi-xenon retrofits or not.
