mudding tires good in snow?
Hey
before you burn me i did do a search, anyways up here in canada we get a fair amount of snow and was wondering if the standard mudding tire, Mickey Thompson, nittro, pro comp etc will give me any grip on ice and snow (living in ontario i cant use studs or chains on the highways.)

I have toyo mud terrains and they seem to survive the Alberta ice and snow just fine. Just gotta have a good head on you and think. Are they bad no. Are they optimal no. They do fine for me and are great for everything else and they look awesome so all the pro's out weigh the tiny est of con's.

destination m/ts on mine. Really good in deep deep snow, average in lightly covered roads, not recommended for ice use like anyother mud tire. I had the destination a/ts on my previous ride and those babies were crazy good on ice. Here in western Washington there isn't much ice, its either rain, rain, snow, or rain.

Mud terrains are fine, however All terrains are usually better for snow. In snow and ice you want the softest composition tire with good siping. Mud terrains are historically hard composition!
They work fine, but if you want the better tire, a good set of all terrains will usually out perform muds!
