^^^ He speaks the truff!!!
Honestly, I dont know jack about the MDS stuff, 'cept for what Hammer said, everyone disables it, and complains about the exhaust note it gives the truck. But, listen to the man, get the '05 and save a couple bucks....
P.S. can't worry about gas mileage when thinking about buying one of these rigs, you'll be disappointed....

Not worth it. I can't say I have personal experience, but most people disable MDS with a tuner, and often report better mileage.
As for what to expect for mileage, that hinges on 4x4 or 4x2, QC vs RC, etc. Realistically 13mpg city, 18-19 highway. Maybe more, maybe less depending on your driving style.

i cant really say that its worth it or not but there obviously is a reason why dodge did this, so i would say that it prob is. Since i have installed the mds light i have noticed when its running on 4 i say alot of gas. aparently the wife drove 1hr and a half today with the light on mostly and it cost her like 10 bucks...

i think it totally depends on how and where you drive.
Highway use it may be good cuz most the time you would have 4 cyl
But in ND it is windy everyday(No Joke, you dont know wind until you come here). so when i drive the wind hits my truck and turns it on and off. will disable when i get tuner.
Also if its a hilly area it will kick on and off probably making your gas mileage worse due to the jump in RPMs

I have an 07 laramie...For lots of highway driving its good...I get around 20 MPG doing 115-120 km/h...but if you drive in the city lots...its not really worth it...I dont see any improvement in the city.
It only runs between 80-120kms (I think)
Yours is also a 05. It was the first year dodge came out with it.
The other thing is what are you planning to do with it? If you want big and powerful, not worth it.
For an everyday driver tho, i seem to like it, my wallet does to...on the highway that is...
