I have an 03 Ram 1500, 4.7 liter,AT, 4 door. After a few months of battling the dreaded limp mode, replacing the shift selonoid, pressure switch and so on, the 45fre transmission lost 3rd and overdrive Saturday morning. I replaced the tranny today (4 hour job)

I picked up what I now know is a 545fre out of an 05 Dodge with the hemi package. I am now getting the codes P0734(gear 4 incorrect ratio), P0735 (gear 5 incorrect ratio). I am wondering can a dealer flash me ecm, can they actually do that. i have read about but has anyone any first hand knowledge of that process or should I purchase an 05 4.7 liter AT computer as I have seen a few for sale?

 

I read somewhere that they wont flash it. You'd have to send it elsewhere, or buy a different one. Not sure about it though good luck.

 

You need a different TCM, most of the guys I've heard of doing the swap buy the TCM from a 4.7L Grand Cherokee with the 545RFE and then plug it into their Ram.
