Frog's got it right. Load the SC tow tune, and use the tow/haul button. You will probably get better gas mileage if you just leave the button on rather than trying to tweak it (example would be turning off Tow/Haul mode when going down a long hill when you can ease off the gas.) Also, when in Tow/Haul mode going down hills, the trans will downshift when coasting to try to keep the truck from running away from you.

Not sure about the 3815, but with the 3865 and the Cortex you can data log the knock retard to see if the engine is pulling back timing to avoid knock. If I am pulling a hill and see the knock retard reduce timing, I ease off the throttle or step on it to kick it down a gear (depends on the situation) and get the knock retard back to 0. I also monitor engine temp because it's a lot easier to catch it if the temp starts rising looking at the digital display rather than guessing at what the stock temp gauge is doing.
