Default Bad Cooper Zeon LTZ tire?

All,

Just want some opinions.... I picked up 4 new Cooper Zeon LTZ's on Dec. 21st. I had the truck aligned on Dec 31st, but it was still pulling to the left. I had it re-aligned yesterday, and the shop found that the front left tire was "bad". Basically, it pulled left. They moved it to the right front, and it pulled right. They stuck it on the back, and it drives perfectly straight!

So right now, it's still on the back. The alignment seems spot on now. They said this happens occasionally. I'm taking the tire back to Discount Tire tomorrow to see what they say and to try and get a replacement. I really don't want to deal with this the first time I get them rotated.

Any thoughts? Does this seem plausible? I did ride with them, and noticed the effects, so they don't seem to be blowing smoke. They did say that it's not a balance issue, since it seems to be balanced and isn't vibrating, just pulling.

(And I'm extremely happy with the alignment now, and they didn't charge me for the follow-up visit to make it right....)

The tires only have 600 miles on them, so they are practically new still. I already have an appointment @ Discount Tire tomorrow, and they didn't sound like it would be an issue, but we'll see.

Discount Tire replaced the tire no questions asked, but I did pay $32 to have the warranty added to the new tire. I purchased the warranty on the original tires, which is why didn't ask any questions, and just replaced it.

So I have a new tire, which they put on the front and it still drives straight. So apparently it was the tire.

Ive never heard of such myself, but Im glad everything worked out so smoothly for you. I have to ask though, why did you have to re-purchase the warranty? Is the warranty only good for one replacement per tire, or am I just misunderstanding something?

Yes, apparently the warranty is only good for one replacement. I probably should have read it first. However, paying $32 vs. $194 is still better.

So they ran that replacement through road hazard!!?? That sounded like a factory defect that should have been covered by Cooper, and had no bearing on your road hazard warranty, sounds like they wanted to snake an extra 32 dollars for doing something they should have been doing for free!!!!

Just my .02

According to the guy at DT, if they ran it through as factory defect, then Cooper pro-rates the life (which they had only been for 500 miles), but I'd have to pay for installation, mount, and balance.

It came out more expensive. While I agree that I should have been able to get out of it for $0 out of pocket, I didn't feel like arguing too much.
