i got the max lift on my 04 ram 1500 i wana put a straight axle in it would it be worth it lookin for guys thought

ya its 4x4 i got 3" body lift 6" suspention and torsion key

It's a lot easier to do an IFS/axle swap if you've already got the 4by equipment in. Yeah, you can do it, just some extra fab work to do, putting in the leaf springs, etc. I'd like to see it done and not just talked about. You got a pic of your truck now?

It's quite a bit of work, don't get me wrong, but if you play hard off road with it you can't go wrong with a solid front axle. Best way to go in the REALLY nasty stuff. Hell, go big and change out both axles to militaries.

how many miles you got on that 04? might be a better idea to just buy a 2500!

The only advantage instead of buying a 2500 would be cost. If it's not a daily driver, he can take his time and he's not into payments. In the '04 it should be paid off. Then he wouldn't have to get tens of thousands of dollars buying a whole new truck. Even if he changes out the motor and suspension, he wouldn't be in as deep as he probably would be if he just bought another truck. Depends on the money. Just my thoughts.
