Default speedometer has no light?

Ok so I have an issue I don't even know where to begin. My gas/temp/battery/ and rpm are all the same brightness, but my speedometer is only lit from 60 down.. Any suggestions of where to even begin?

Have you taken the cluster out and checked for burnt out bulbs? My guess is you will find some smoked ones.

It is a good idea to unplug the battery negative cable first to avoid accidental airbag deployment.

You'll figure this out very quickly once you get going but this should get you started (and finished!)

1. Remove the knee bolster panel
-two screws at the bottom just above the pedals
2.Remove Headlamp switch bezel. This is held in with tabs, and you have to disconnect the headlamp control wire after you pop it loose.

3. Remove the center bezel
a. Open ashtray and cupholder
b. remove the one screw from the grocery hook on the bottom right
c. The rest of the center stack bezel is held in by clips (top right and left, and five along the bottom. Work your way around the center bezel in a circle till all the clips are out, then remove the whole thing, unplugging any wires as needed.
4. Remove the cluster bezel
a. Remove the two screws from the top of the cluster bezel
b. Put the steering wheel as low as it will go to help wrangle this bezel out
c. release two clips from the bottom left and right of the bezel
d. remove the bezel

5. Remove any screws holding in the gauge cluster and pull it out. Unplug it and take it out.

now look at the back of the cluster and you will see the back side of the bulb twist connectors. Most if not all of these bulbs have a label. Just remove them and check if they are burned out and replace as necessary. Some may be obviously smoked but check for broken or deformed filaments.

Bulb #194 (autozone, walmart, o'reilly's, etc.)

Reinstall in reverse.
