Default Hissing Sound From Dash

I have a 2008 Ram 2500 Cummins and a hissing sound just started from the dash. It is constant and goes away when the brakes are applied. I did a search and someone previously stated it was the hydraulic pressure in the power steering. Im wondering if this is true and if so what the fix is for it. If anyone can please help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

are you sure its inside the dash? any particular part (driver or passenger)? does it do it all the time regardless of turning or going straight? does it stop every time you hit the brakes or just coincidentally?

Yep I cant hear it from outside. It comes from the drivers side and does it while in park or while driving. It stops every time I hit the brakes so it seems it is pressure related. Thanks for helping

yep if it stops every time you hit the brake, its gonna definitely be part of the braking system. start at the brake booster (driver side firewall) and work your way down each line to the wheels inspecting them. check for any fluid or air escaping

You would know pretty quick if there is fluid leaking from a brake line.. I havent looked at my booster but usually theres a vacuum line going to the booster from the engine. check that to

yeah the more i think about it, the problem wont be in a fluid filled line. its gonna be a vacuum hose (still part of the braking system)

It means your dash is angry and is about to attack you.

Sorry to be of no help but that's the first response that came to mind when I saw the topic. I spent a few minutes debating whether to post it or not but I'm laughing so hard I'm crying so I just had to do it.
