SMOKING THE TIRES
Is that an 04 thing? My tires light up just fine on my 03 Hemi. They would do it all the time when i had the narrow stock tires on. Do you think the gearing has anything to do with it? I have the 3:92's.
I didn't know it was even an issue.[sm=dontgetit.gif]

SO, WHAT'S THE ANSWER IS THERE A WAY TO FIX IT OR SHOULD WE SAY THAT THE HEMI CAN'T AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BREAK LOOSE UNLESS POWER BRAKED, IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN THIS WEEK-END I'LL BUY THE SRT 10

On an 04 the TMR can't be disconnected as it could on the 03's. The system isn't meant to work as traction control, but as a momentary delay of the torque to save the transmission. The TMR operation lasts only a second and works by opening the TB incrementally, just not all at once.
My 04 will spin the tires, but it won't smoke them unless I'm brake standing.
I bought the truck Stock, I had duals put on and changed the air intake. The Dyno guy's tested it last Saturday at kahunaville and on there computer it said horse power out put 390 at the engine. What more can I tell you. I know that it fly's by anything but a gas station. and that's using regular gas. The barometer was 29.95 that day.
all I have done is the air intake mod and I have no problems smoking the tires and mine is an '04... but with a single cab and the 20's. I dont go around doing that very much if at all possible, last time I bought one of these tires it was $200 so I would like to get as much life out of them as possible!
And I am with Todd, dont see how you could get 390 rear wheel horse out of a 345 stock Hemi(and Dodge's rating is at the flywheel at that). If your getting 50+ more rear wheel horse than the rest of us with a HEMI then you should NOT be complaining about not being able to burn your rear tires.

Most hemi's are putting getting about 275 rwh. For you to have 390rwp it would have to be more than bolt ons unless you count a super/turbocharger a bolt on. I'd guess he meant 390 at the flywheel and that is still quite a lot with just exhaust and intake. Do you have the dyno printout to share?
