Help painting center caps on wheels
since my factory 20s are getting powdercoated and they couldnt coat plastic center caps i have to do them. How do I paint it correctly with no chipping. I have read teach's diy but there on wheels so would be different. What kind of primer do i use, what kind of sand paper and a type of black spray paint. I think that using a brush to paint the caps would be better then spraying but i dont know. Anyone can give me a step by step on how to paint them. I not good at painting and anyhelp to make it great would be awsome. Thanks
You could probably use 800 grit snad paper to sand down the caps and hit all the shiney parts that are hard to get to with a scotch brite pad. Make sure you get those areas real good though otherwise the primer wont stick. As far as primer and paint you should be able to use standard stuff that you can find at a local auto supply store. I heard Dulpi-color paints work well. I would also finish it off with a couple layers of clear coat to help protect it.
I am not a painter so I may be wrong. I can ask my work partner cause he has been a painter for 13 years to get more details if you need it!

aiden, ive painted quite a few things on my truck....
Id hit it with some 500/600 then 800/1000 grit sandpaper, clean it up real good with degreaser (it should get the mold release off) and then some 70% alcohol. Use a self etching primer, on top of that.
Duplicolor makes a spray paint that looks kinda like our trucks paint code....not exactly match (but youre probably just wanting to match your wheels) ....hit it with that, you probably could just do a few coats of that and no clear (since you dont have gloss rims)...if you really wanted you could polish and wax after that, but wont need it
