Default Inlet Air Temperature Sensor...2003 1500

Great site. Been lurking for a while so it's time to post. Just finished changing the plugs and oil w/filter on my 2003. Used NGK V-Power plugs, Royal Purple 5w30 with a K n N oil filter. Works like a charm...well almost. After cleaning the resonator box, my shop towel snagged the IAT sensor. Yup, you guessed it..check engine light goes on at startup. Great. Gotta get it smogged by tomorrow. Question is: After installing the part, will the check engine light go off on it's own? Will it clear on it's own after a few start ups? Thanks for the responses.

it should turn off if the problem is fixed, or just unhook the battery for a lil bit.
