The best is when you buy online and install yourself. But please, if you are not good with wiring and connections or at least have a digital multi-meter then please do NOT do this.

 

I ended up going with the Avital 5303 for (around) $450 installed. I know I could have saved a lot of $$$ installing it myself, but honestly, I wasn't that confident in my ability to do so. I'll post back later with a review once I've had it awhile... but so far, so good.

 

Btw, I just wanted to say thank you to all who contributed to this thread. I learned a lot and as always, your advice is greatly appreciated.
