I ran the BFG Long Trail T/A's in that size on my F150 I had. A very good all around tire for a good price at Sam's club.

on road and off road nitto tera graplers.

strickly on road, light off road, mud, gravel roads, dirt, mud rain and snow, Nitto dura graplers, LT 265 70 17, load range E, tires will out last the truck, on the 2500 Ram, the rims stick out on the wheel wells, don't know if they do on the 1500 Ram, if the rms are not tucked into the wheel wells, a larger 285 may need fender flars.

I a lot of praise for nitto, even in E range, ride and handeling empty, or with a load will amaze you, most light truck tires are P rated, rated for passenger car only!!!

This probably won't help you much but I got me some Cooper Zeon LTZ tires for my 20" wheels and I absolutely love them. I think you should try to swap your gift card on craigslist for cash and buy tires else where. www.treadeopt.com is a great place to find tires for great prices. That is where I got my Coopers and saved a lot of $$$. Here is the link:

If you are stuck between the 2 you listed above I would go with the Michlins IMO.

Here are 2 pics of mine:

Get 285 70 17's, they look much better in my opinion, just fit the large finder wells better.
