Unhappy Problem with my ram !!!!!

2004 DODGE RAM 1500 HEMI..
A light on the dash just came on.. kind of hard to explain what it looks like but will do my best.. its orange looks like a half circle almost and now i have lost power not as much power as before since this light has come on.. any clues??? is this something i can fix myself or do i have to take it to the shop thanks for any and all help..

Which light is it? Here is the page from the manual showing all the different indicator lights.

its a warning light for the emissons i think if i am correct it is number 1 what is on. thinking it could be a bad EGR valve thinking of changing that and see what happens.. thanks for your help any more ideas would be great

Need to get it tested..take it to autozone/advance/shucks/etc and have someone scan it and then post the code here.

That's your check engine light I do believe my friend. Do the key code so you don't have to take it to autozone to have it tested:

Get the code, then either post here or check the search function for your code.

Number 1 is the check engine light. Pull the code and check it with the list of codes.

Not to be mean by any means. That is an outline of a motor, not a half circle.

Teach, great visual for the dashboard, good thinking on that one!

Also, the "key trick" is a good idea to try first to get a code. I think it only works on mid 04s and older. My 04 does not work with the key trick and I need an OBD II scanner to scan for the code.

Needing a scanner to pull a code is always a great excuse for buying a tuner.
