Default Air bag light likes to come on....

Yeah. The airbag light came on in my truck about a week ago, but likes to quietly turn itself off. Every time I start the thing, it dings at me and its on. I want to go to the dealership to get it looked at, but one of the guys at my job quit, and I've been working my ever loving *** off for three weeks now. Between that and moving, I have absolutely no time or money. I notice that whenever it decides to turn on during a drive, the passenger airbag light (the one with the key hole) is off. What do you guys think it might be? I'm going to the dealership to get it looked at next time I get a fraction of a chance. And I need to get a few part numbers from them.

Could be anything from a faulty sensor to a loose connection, but if it only does it when you start it up, maybe it's in the steering column? Pulling that one outta u know where....lol Best bet is to wait and have it serviced by a professional. Last thing you want is an airbag going off in your face <<<<very dangerous and not to mention the added expense involved.

Well, I called the dealership and they said that they wouldn't cover it under warranty. They said that the warranty runs out at 35000 miles. ****ing douches. It would cost me $120 just to diagnose it, not to mention the cost of the actual repair and the time that I am without a truck. So, what do you think I should do?

Alright, here's something interesting. I got home today and the light had turned off quietly before I parked. I had caught this and decided to experiment a bit. Since the light wasn't on, I repeatedly punched the passenger side of the dash and the light dinged at me after the fourth punch. Gonna see if I can do it again. If it is something that I have to remove the dash for, I'll just bypass the whole system and say skrew it. Hell, now that I think about it, I could also fix my wipers which have a schedule of their own while I'm back there! I just hate diagnosing electrical work. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, and now it gives me the most PITA to fix annoyances.

FINALLY FOUND IT!!!!! It is the light for the passenger airbag key switch. One light goes off, and the other comes on. How retarded is that? Also, on a side note, the wipers fixed themselves too for some reason.

I was gonna say install your own airbags!

Get a helium tank and an old bean bag chair... and if you hit the accident just right, you'll be floating off laughing hysterically

There is a thread on here about the windshield wiper motor needing to be taken out and apart and the contacts cleaned inside so it will consistently work.
