to give you a little info... i bought a 2 inch leveling kit from tuff country but when it cam in the mail the spacers were only an inch thick... so i thought to my self (how in the heck can an inch give you 2 inches)... so i called and a guy in customer service told me that the compression of the coil/strut changes which in turn will give me 2 inches..... what do you guys think? true or false

 

Its all about leverage. The coil is mounted roughly in the middle of the A arm. Pushing down 1 inch on the middle of the A arm will in turn push the out side down 2 inches.

 

so in other words it will work?

 

If they say its a 2" level it probably is. Only way to really know is to put it in, if it doesn't level it as much as its advertised tell them you want your money back. I leveled my truck but I have the torsion bar suspension so I can't say much about your setup, it just makes sense to me.

 

yeah i just dont know that much about the coil/stuts on the 06 dodge 4x4. havent had it that long... just wanted to get some info in case i wanted to send it back.

It'll work. Think of it this way. Lay down a 2x4x10 and have someone stand on one end. That's a 2x4 being 10ft long for those who don't know...lol So have a friend stand on one end and then place a 2" block on the other end. You'll get 2" of lift obviously. Now, as you slide that towards the other end where your friend is standing your 2x4 will begin to gradually get higher and higher off the same 2" block.

As Frog'd diagram shows, it's the same thing with the suspension geometry.
