does the vin from the new pcm have to match the vin on the truck for it to work? i thought i heard that somewhere...

i think you can reflash the VINs to match. From what I've found so far, you really just need the 05 PCM, wiring harness, and guages. Wiring would be a total pain though because it all has to go through the firewall. there arent any butt connectors (no homo).

I'm so ticked off about this whole cam/tuning thing i cant even think straight!

so whats the problem? are you just upset that you cant get trans tuning to go along with your new power? or cant you get the motor tuned for a more agressive cam?

get a cam that runs with SC. Im getting my 6.1 reground to something more aggressive thatll run with SC.

Isn't he in canada or something though?

Anyways point is there is tuning options for the engine. If you can get a diablo you should be able to tune the engine and have that neck snapping power you're after.

diablos do support the 03, but are very limited in what they can contol. idle speed is not one of them, making it VERY difficult to tame a big cam.

I'm not going with a mild cam -- not worth the cost. I might be able to work with an aggressive cam with a DSP/PSC stack.
