The more I read on this the more I like it. They advertise "This can allow us to guarantee you a minimum 25-30 rear-wheel HP increase." SWEET!!

I looked it up (at APS) and it was $450 plus the core. They (AAMCO) said it was $365. I'm guessing that was the upcharge from a stock rebuild.

AAMCO would not do one for me. All they wanted to do was open up the stock on and adjust the stall and charge $400 for a "performance" converter plus install. I'd be a bit weary if thats the way you are going.... I ordered mine from APS

Good info... I'll check into it, but I'm guessing it would take more than a day or two to send it off and have it rebuilt. They opened it up (the transmission) today, ordered the parts and will have it done in 48 hrs. I'm hopeful that these are the real parts in the local supply depot. Seems it would take more time to pull it out send it off for a rebuild and reinstall it.

Sorry no thats not what I meant, they told me that they would do it all in house. They would remove the converter cut it open and adjust the stock equipment to give it a higher stall, which is great but does nothing to improve/reduce the parasitic loss so no rwhp increases.

The 25-30rwhp gains that APS claims in because of the other parts they use. If AAMCO can get a hold of those other parts then great but when I talked to them when I was first looking into them that was not the case. I'd definitely be asking them what they are replacing in the converter because if they are just cutting open the stocker and adjusting the stall and replacing the stock components with newer stock components its going to be a waste of money and add more heat to the trans that you dont want to have.

Also the TC from Edge and APS have a different looking housing than the stocker too.

Well I went by there to get something out of my truck and it was done. The dude asked me if I wanted to drive it and I did. I could tell the shifts were different but I couldn't tell much difference in the stall. Did a couple of take offs and also power braked it. I went back inside and told the dude that it did not feel like it had a 2800 stall and he said they didn't make a 2800 and he put in a 2600.....

WHY do people do this? I was pissed, and told the dude we had a problem... Reminded him of our conversation and he played dumb *** so I called him on it. I explained to him that I wanted the APS in it and was fully expecting it and that he had misled me. (F N LIAR) He's trying to locate one right now...
