Default excessive gas milage,transmission concearns

I currently get 11.6 mpg according to the computer in my 04 1500 ram. It seems to be getting worse. any ideas on what I can do to improve it more than just 1 or 2 mpg.
Also I have noticed my transmission starting to slip slightly

That's what I get in rush hour traffic on the way home. Highway is better of course. What motor do you have? You may want to start with plugs, clean the throttle body, and maybe run some fuel injector cleaner through it. Sorry, my knowledge is very limited as having to do with transmissions.

When is the last time you tuned it up? Plugs, air filter, tranny service, etc. A bad/slipping tranny can eat your mpg.

my 04 hemi gets 11.7 too. do you live where its cold? cold weather is associated with longer idle times and winter blend fuel which robs gas milage. I was close to 13mpg in the summer. it also depends on what kind of driving you do. but as mentioned go through the tune up routine, maybe even think about switching to synthetic engine oil.

I get 13mpg in city during long idle times. However, I run CAI, E-Fan, 93 dsp tune, Synthetic fluids, Borla muffler and all that just about counter acts the level with 35x12.5 tires, lol.

I think a lot of it is the efan you have. That fan is very parasitic.
