Default MDS Delete Lifters

My buddy wants to run non-MDS lifters in his 2006 Hemi, and my questions are;
What else is needed for the swap?
Does it require the heads to be removed or can it be done just by taking the valve covers off?
Are the non-MDS lifter just stock lifters from a 2500/3500 Hemi?

MDS delete lifters are just regular non mds lifters. Just take the valve covers off? He's gonna need to know a little more than that to successfully swap them out.

What I meant was; Do the heads have to be removed or is it physically possible to do it without removing the heads?

You can do it without having to pull the heads. But why? If he does it he needs to disable the MDS in the ECU.

The guy's recently retired, is pretty good with engines and has plenty of time on his hands, so he wants to do it this way. He is new to these Hemi engines so he asked me to do some research for him.

Now, is there anything else besides the non-MDS lifters and an ECU flash (Is SCT tuning a possiblility?) that he needs to finish the swap?

KRC Performance sold a MDS delete kit at one time, but since tuners have been able to delete it, I havn't seen it on their site...

I believe just replacing the lifters is enough, no flash necessary.

so if you replace the lifters, what happens when the ECU tried to kick MDS on? does it also shut down spark?
