I have used 5w20 only brought 6 qts and had 5w30 laving around and used the last 1qt and nothing happen. I bet you could use 5w30 oil and be fine. Noting happne to me and ram is wokring fine.
if it doesn't have variable valve timing, use what you want. The others need the thinner oil.

3.7 02-present does not have either MDS or VVT. The only Chrysler engine currently blessed with such marvels (but probably not for much longer) is the 09 and up 5.7 hemi.
That's good to hear, the reason I was asking about weight is that I went to Kragen to buy Royal Purple and they were all out of 5w-20, so I went with 5-30. From what I hear its not the end of the world for my engine. I'm pretty sure that synthetic oil is much more forgiving.
For your 07, it won't kill it, but switch back to 5W-20 next oil change because a dealer will use this as ammo to deny warranty work ("oh, that's gonna cost ya, you put the wrong oil in!").
You should have used straight 30 weight. I know this kid on the internet that says he used it and it didn't hurt his motor. He didn't tear his motor down to check for excess piston/ring wear, lifter issues, sludge, etc. But who cares, it was a dollar off! Nothing but the cheapest, most convenient garbage for my baby!
If you want to destroy your oil pump then go ahead. 30 weight doesn't change viscosity, so even if your motor is warm and revving at whatever thousand RPMs above idle, the oil pump is trying to pump this sludge as fast as a 5 weight oil. My suggestion is to go with synthetic oil regardless of what weight you go, but make sure that it thins out a bit when it gets warm.

He's joking.
OP they haven't really changed anything on the v6 since 2005 so there is nothing to warrant the swap from 5w-30 to 5w-20 they just did it one year so you should be fine.
