Just pulled the trigger on 8" lift. Few questions
Been lurking a while but Im pretty new here. Anyway, recently installed a 2" leveling kit on me truck ( stats in sig ) and when I took it in to get it aligned the tech at Les Schwabb told me I need new upper and lower ball joint and inner and outer tie rods before they can align it. Quoted me just shy of 1200 bucks.
Well I got all those parts for 170 online, so I was able to talk my GF into a 5" Rough Country lift for another 1200 since Im saving all that money on the repair work. I already have a 3" PA body lift for this thing so that will put me right at 8" when all is said and done.
Now I just have a few Q's.
1. Can I crank the torsion bars back down and inch so this setup will be level or will I need to remove?
2. Could I leave t bars where they are and get an add a leaf?
3. 35"s big enough?
Let me know what you all think. I will be sure to update thread w pics. Thanks guys

Its an 02 QC 4x4 5.9 360. All stock except the level kit right now.
From what Ive read and understand with this kit, its actually a 4" lift with the option of making the rear a 5" and cranking t bars 1".... Or am I mistaken? And I dont see in the instructions where the torsion keys are replaced, but Im not a know it all so maybe Im missing something?
Heres a link to the instructions: http://roughcountry.com/install/1380.pdf
I plan on getting lots of pics and hopefully posting a DIY thread, Ive had a bitch of a time finding any info on this stuff online.

yeah guys im pretty sure his level kit is a torsion bar key. this wont be affected by the lift. most coil spacer level kits get replaced with the suspension lift (new shocks/coils). he has the torsion keys which wont be touched with the new lift.
so to answer the question, yes you'll want to remove the torsion keys and put it back to stock if you want it to ride level. good pick on wheels and tires. those will look sweet. 35's will fit easily with 8" lift, and plenty of room to articulate as well. post up some pics when finished

The instructions are very vague but from what I understand the kit just has you put your stock keys back in. But yes I have 2" keys with shock relocation brackets.
From what little info I can find online you have to crank your stock keys an inch to get the front to level out to 5". When you order the kit it gives you the option of 4 or 5" rear blocks, but no different options on the front. This is why its advertised everywhere as a 4 OR 5 inch kit.
If this is the case I think I will be leaving the keys on and getting an add a leaf so I can level off at 9" of lift. Again this is what I understand, but havent been able to confirm.

Thanks man, I will be sure to post some. Seems like a tight little group here on this forum so thats great.
Ive always liked the way the moto metals have looked when they are moving.. Rims should look good in action I think and these do the job. And Ive heard nothing but good about the Mickey Thompsons. Plus its a little diff than the standard Toyos or Nittos evone seems to have.
