This isn't a fair question. For towing and a true "working" rig I would pick the CTD but for Daily Driving with occasional towing I'll pick the Hemi every time.

I voted for the Hemi, because that is what I have, however, if I was unbiased I'd vote for the CTD. Been around longer, durable as hell, and its got 325hp out of 6 cylinders. It's just a monster of a motor.

hemi loses a lot of points simply because they're not offered in manual. the ctd has WAY more potential and has almost double the torque and doesn't require a lot of revving to get any power out of it.

I've driven at least one of every engine and its hard to decide. I like the 3.7 for what it is...a 6 cylinder with good power, good torque and decent fuel economy. The 4.7 is a great all around engine for in town or highway, smooth acceleration but pretty poor gas mileage. The Hemi is a power house with gas mileage equivalent of a 4.7 lol. The CTD is my vote for towing/hauling. Torque pretty much from start to 4700. Nice power as well...IT WILL GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY lol. I've got a 3.7 5-spd so i'm partial to it.

i voted for the CTD. More available power, better fuel economy and a much better look from the little rice runners when ya blow black smoke into their windows.

Cummins without a doubt. Better mileage, more power, & and 400K to 500K before rebuild!
