power wire = CEL... WTF!?

so i just did the "power wire mod to my truck and as soon as i started it up i got a check engine light... what the f*ck? am i missing something?

did you use the 4.7kohm?

Some ppl get that but most do not.

yeah, i used 4.7k Ohm, 1/4 watt, 5% toll...

i havent been on in some time and i just now noticed all these "power wire" ad TCM mods that people are talking about. what is this all about? what are the benefits? i dont mean to thread jack here, i am just curious. i am sick today and if its free and easy, hell im always looking for something to do.

Did you pull the neg. battery cable when you were putting it on? That's all I did, then hooked it back up after like 10 mins and no CEL/MIL.

OP, again, some people get those CELs but its only a small number of people.

New2This: The PW (either professionally made or custom made) tricks the PCM into thinking the incoming air is about 22* cooler that what it really is. This only helps to a certain extent before the PCM corrects itself. This only works at WOT when the truck no longer monitors AFR (open loop) and gives it a bit more pep if you will.

Had a CEL when I first installed my PW. Reset it and it never came back.
