i need more power
AMEN! it may not be the biggest engine but i kick my buddy's 5.4 F150 any day. and i dont have to drive a furd.
with my 5.9 i would agree with the superchips opened up my 5.9 big time , there really detuned from the factory !!
also i notice good low power with the 1.7 harland sharps and fastman throttle body
i also opened up my exhaust with longtube headers and no cats that made a major diffrence also
im going to be doing the edlebroc airgap next , check your plenum too if thats leaking your losing alot of power there

very true those older magnums have them steel plenums that should be aluminum...look down in ya tb and see if oiled is pooled up if so its gonna be a fun fix....buy it from wayne at aps precision...great guy and great products....i had to do mine when i had my 5.2 major difference......
I can smoke the tires in my 5.9 with my 35's and 3.92's, but I still cant beat a hemi and I know that. The power difference is just too huge, maybe if that superchips really does make a huge difference... but I still just dont believe it, especially not with stock gearing on 37's. And again, rydes, you have not told us which gears you have, there are a few different gear sets that are stock, do you have 3.92's or 3.55's? And the ford is known to be the slowest truck, If you read all the reviews on them they are slower than both the chevy and the dodge.
I think maybe my 5.9 1500 could take my moms hemi 2500, but not another half ton hemi with stock tires and no lift. I mean, unless rydes has replaced his plenum, gotten the fastman 52 mm throttle body, the new edelbrock hughes intake, a good exhaust headers back, either a cam or 1.7 RR's, and has the 3.92's at least then I just cant believe that he could take a hemi 1500...

plenum is not leaking. but it was deathflashed from the factory, which the SC fixed. if you don't believe in the SC magic.. then that's too bad for you
I have no idea what the 0-60 time is on my truck, I can test it tomorrow though, if I remember right the SC has a 0-60 measurement tool! and I will make a youtube video as soon as I can. just need to find someone with a hemi around that's willing to race and get taped. shouldn't be too hard though, i live in a college town:-)
btw, i do not know offhand what gears I have. they are stock from the factory though, on the SLT Plus package, whatever that may be.

The 02's had much less trouble with the plenum so I believe it that yours may not be leaking since mine does not have the leak either, and I know very well from experience with the plenum leaks, I had a 5.2 with the plenum leak. I had a superchips on my old 5.2 and it did alot and I was thrilled with it, and I believe it does do wonders, it claims 40 plus horsepower on the 5.9, which I believe, but still... the hemi has something like 90 some odd horsepower more... 40 for the superchips, maybe 20 out of the ignition and that is pushing it... 5 out of your exhaust maybe unless you have headers and cat-back which I may believe 25-30 and even there it still that adds up to 90 horsepower more tops not including the difference between your lift and tires over a non-lifted hemi...
i'll check out the glove box today. yeah, i think the superchips website claims 55-60 horse and 60torque from the superchips 3815 on the 5.9. and believe me, i believe every horse via seat of the pants dyno. the upgraded ignition is also huge for 5.9's. now, as for everyone saying things about a lift kit, why? the aerodynamics are the same as it would be stock. the only difference is 37" tires of rotational mass. the ram comes with 31" tires from the factory. that's a 6" overall difference, which is only a 3" radius change. That is NOT a lot of difference from factory, especially with all the torque the ram makes to begin with. If I had 44's it would be a different story, but I don't, they are just tiny 37's. With the huge amount of extra RPM my superchips opened up, I would be surprised if I didn't feel a difference just via RPMs.
When I towed with my ram, over 1200 miles from Chicago to Colorado, I was pulling a full-size trailer, with my showcar camaro in it, had my motorcycle in my truck bed, and a bunch of moving boxes, and I was cruising at 80mph the whole way, even when going up large grades. Never had a problem. Ram's can haul ***, they just need to be tuned right.
