just by comparing the videos, first of all, my first shift is when it hits 60mph. i see everyone elses shifting at like 50. that's a no no. second of all, listen to the trans in mine. it sounds neat. i cant hear anyone else's. maybe i got the 1 good trans that came in ram's :-D

what fluid do you guys run in your trans/t-case/rear end? just curious. i enjoy the purple

I dont remember what it was before I had the tuner on it, but I remember the tuner really did fix the shifting like crazy. Could also be the ignition is allowing for more RPMS and faster tach climb, helping her get to 60 before she wants to shift. I could change it to let me shift at 5500, might get a bit more speed outta it. Don't the valves start to float around 5600?

I didnt think the tuner can do shift points, a asked superchips that about 5 months ago... The only thing the tuner can do is dump 3 canned tunes (mileage, tow, and performance), adjust for the tire height, and raise your top speed. They dont give you control over your tranny from what they told me...

You are right! you can also adjust your rev limiter, BUT there is no way to make it adjust shift points. The only reason I can come up with for his shifting later is the higher gears he is running, but that is contrary to having that kind of power off the line, WITH 37's!!

There has to be something else done to that truck, and he may or may not know what it is, but there is something more than "the one good transmission"

Before I put the superchips in there was a difference where it shifted. After I put the superchips performance tune in, the truck shifted at MUCH different points, im talking about mph. For example, when I can cruise at 80mph at low rpms, that was due to the superchips. Before I had that put in the rpm's were much higher at 80. And I had been driving with same gears on 37's for quite a bit before the SC. Shrug, beat's me. That's how it worked though.

edit: perhaps when it changed the timing and fixed the deathflash made a big diff? no idea.

Yes I agree the SC did change the overall shifting, much crisper and yes at WOT it does hold the gear longer! AND with 3:73 it takes higher speeds to wind up rpm's so yes at 60 you will be running less rpm's than someone with 3:92's. AND the 37's will also bring down the rpm's versus 35's. BUT 3:73's and 37's SHOULD also make take off's more sluggish. That is the part that does not make sense to me, that you have a launch of a 4:56 geared truck. or a truck that has a whole lot more motor than a 360 to run that fast with that gear combo.

Just thinkin and typing here.......
